Self-Study for Reaccreditation 2009 | University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Excellence, INNOVATION, AND ACCESS

In the 2009-2010 academic year, the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will undergo a comprehensive evaluation for accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools (HLC).

The Self-Study process will allow the academic community to evaluate itself in relation to the published accreditation criteria and provide evidence to support those findings. The Self-Study process is designed to be introspective, inclusive and provide the entire academic community an opportunity to participate. The final report will be written by a Working Team and members of Section Committees who will respond to specific topics and explain how they meet the HLC criteria.

The Self-Study report will be submitted in late summer 2009 and the accreditation visit will occur in the fall of 2009. The Higher Learning Commission adopted new criteria in January of 2005 and Illinois will be addressing those criteria in a format that follows the campus strategic plan adopted in March 2007.
