CURRICULA PREPARATORY TO TEACHING FOREIGN LANGUAGES

The College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers curricula for the preparation of teachers of French, German, Latin, Russian, and Spanish. Teacher education minors are also available in these languages and in Italian and Portuguese. Students are advised that additional course work is necessary to teach middle grades six through eight. A student who wishes to prepare for teaching a foreign language at the elementary and secondary school levels should consult the certification officer at the Council on Teacher Education, 130 Education Building, for information concerning current state requirements and procedures.
