The Institute of Government and Public Affairs conducts research on public policy issues and public decision-making processes, especially as these relate to Illinois. It disseminates research results to practitioners and citizens through publications and conferences, and applies its public affairs expertise to solving problems confronting decision-makers through workshops and individual contacts. The institute offers no graduate or undergraduate classes, but the regular faculty all have joint appointments in teaching departments in various disciplines throughout the University. Each year the institute also has several affiliate faculty members from related University departments, as well as from other universities.
