For the Degree Bachelor of Fine Arts in the History of Art

The curriculum in the history of art requires 122 credit hours and offers a broad cultural education that unites academic and studio training. The curriculum provides sound preparation for the graduate study required for museum work or teaching at the college level.

30 Six hours in each of the following areas: humanities and the arts, quantitative reasoning, natural sciences and technology, social and behavioral sciences, and Western and non-Western culture.
0-16 One foreign language through the fourth level is required. French or German recommended.

      • ARTH 115—Art in Global Context (4) [credit will not be given for both 112 and 115]

Students are required to complete a minimum of 6 hours of e;ectives in a single area from the following options: ancient and modern literatures, classics, anthropology, history and philosophy.

Students should select these courses with the FAA Art History Advisor's consent.
